Permanent Call for Papers

The Revista Estud(i)os de Dança (RED) operates on a continuous publication model, encouraging ongoing submissions of articles that enhance the understanding of dance and its processes through scientific rigor, innovative methodologies, critical reflection, and transdisciplinary approaches.

Categories for Submission:

Original Articles
We invite original research articles based on rigorous scientific research, including new data, results from experiments, quasi-experiments, or observational research that provides descriptive or inferential analysis of collected data. These submissions should address philosophical, historical, sociocultural, or pedagogical aspects and follow a structured scientific format:

  • Introduction: Outline of the study, including a summary or discussion of prior relevant research.
  • Methodology: Detailed explanation of the research approach and methods employed.
  • Analysis: Presentation of data analysis.
  • Discussion: Interpretation of findings within the study’s context.
  • Conclusion: Summary of insights gained and implications for the field.

Review Articles and Theoretical/Conceptual Reflections
We also welcome in-depth reviews and theoretical reflections that provide critical analysis and interpretation of specific themes. These should present a natural flow of ideas, offer comprehensive interpretive references, problematize the current understandings within dance academic research, and deliver original conclusions.

Connections
In the Connections section, we accept materials that are valuable to researchers, educators, and practitioners:

  • Interviews: Structured dialogues with prominent figures in dance and performing arts, covering topics such as technique, creative process, and artistic challenges.
  • Biographies: Thorough accounts of the professional journeys of dancers, choreographers, and other dance figures, analyzing their impact and contextualizing their contributions.
  • Testimonies: Personal and professional narratives from dance professionals, offering insights into the lived experiences and challenges within the dance field.
  • Portfolios: Visual collections of works by notable dance professionals, showcasing their artistic achievements, choreographies, and contributions to the field.

Each submission undergoes rigorous review to ensure academic quality and relevance, providing readers with enriching perspectives on the diverse aspects of dance practice and academic research.

Submission Guidelines: Submissions in Portuguese or English are welcome, provided they adhere to the journal’s academic and technical standards. Papers must follow the submission guidelines and be submitted directly through the journal's website using the OJS platform. For detailed formatting requirements and guidelines, please visit the RED [Submission Guidelines]. RED ensures a blind peer review process, and the editorial requirements specify that the publication of submitted articles will only be guaranteed following the successful completion of the evaluation and review process.
