Original Articles
Articles resulting from scientific research work with presentation of original data and results from experiments, quasi-experiments and/or observational aspects with philosophical, historical, sociocultural and/or pedagogical characteristics, which includes descriptive and/or inferential analysis from the collected data. The format of the article must follow the sections and subsections recognized in the scientific area: introduction (includes a description of the subject under study, summarizing or discussing the relevant previous research); methodology; analysis; discussion; and conclusion.
We also consider articles of review and/or of theoretical/ conceptual reflection. They presuppose, in addition to interpretation, a deeper analysis of a given theme, presenting critical reflections and personal impressions in a natural flow of ideas, including the interpretative references adopted, problematizing the understandings of the scientific field as currently consolidated, and elaborating original conclusions.
Connections
RED publishes, in this section, valuable materials for scholars such as interviews, biographies, testimonies, and portfolios of dancers, choreographers, and other dance professionals considered relevant.
Articles based on interviews or biographies use these sources to explore the lives and experiences of professionals or personalities in the field of dance and performing arts.
The interviews can provide valuable perspectives that directly capture the views of individuals involved in the artistic practice. They can address subjects like dance techniques, creative processes, artistic influences, and challenges faced by professionals. The interviews are conducted in a structured manner, and they may include standardized questions or follow a predetermined script.
Biographies, on the other hand, offer a more comprehensive view of the professional trajectory of a dancer or dance professional, exploring their education, career, significant contributions, and impact on dance and/or performing arts. They can analyze the historical, social, and cultural context in which these individuals developed, highlighting their major achievements and influences.
