Original Articles

Articles resulting from scientific research work, presenting original data and results from experiments, quasi-experiments, and/or observational aspects with philosophical, historical, sociocultural, and/or pedagogical characteristics, including descriptive and/or inferential analysis of collected data. The article format must follow the sections and subsections recognized in the scientific field: introduction (including a description of the subject under study, summarizing or discussing relevant prior research); methodology; analysis; discussion; and conclusion.

Review and/or theoretical-conceptual reflection articles are also considered. These assume, in addition to interpretation, a more in-depth analysis of a specific topic, presenting critical reflections and personal insights in a coherent flow of ideas, including the adopted interpretative frameworks, questioning the understandings of the scientific field consolidated at present, and developing original conclusions.

Connections

RED publishes, in this section, materials useful for scholars such as interviews, biographies, testimonies, and portfolios of dancers, choreographers, and other relevant dance professionals.

Articles based on interviews or biographies constitute works that use these sources to explore the life and experiences of professionals or notable personalities in the field of dance and performing arts.

Interviews can provide valuable perspectives that directly capture the views of individuals involved in artistic practice. They may address topics such as dance techniques, creative processes, artistic influences, and challenges faced by professionals. Interviews are conducted in a structured manner, potentially including standardized questions or following a pre-determined guide.

Biographies offer a broader view of an artist’s or dance professional’s trajectory, exploring their training, career, significant contributions, and impact on dance and/or performing arts. They may analyze the historical, social, and cultural context in which these individuals developed, highlighting their main achievements and influences.

RED also values the testimonies of dancers, choreographers, and other professionals, who share their personal and professional experiences. These narratives can offer valuable insights into the challenges faced in the dance world, the obstacles overcome, and the achievements attained, while conveying important experiences accumulated throughout a professional career.

Additionally, RED is committed to providing portfolios that showcase the work of renowned dance professionals, allowing access to concrete examples of their quality and creativity. These portfolios represent a way to visually appreciate performances, choreographies, and contributions of these artists, thereby enhancing the understanding of dance as a form of artistic expression.

All articles in the Connections section undergo evaluation, review, and editing by RED, ensuring both academic quality and the relevance of the presented content.
