The project proposes the development of a set of mediating devices to explore movement that I have identified as ‘inclusive movement modalities’. The research carried out as part of the doctorate focuses on describing, interpreting and understanding how a group of participants I have called ‘people who don’t usually dance’ (PWDUD) experience these modalities. This article is divided into two parts based on two central and inseparable aspects of the project: the first section consists of the theoretical foundation of the expression ‘people who don’t usually dance’ (PWDUD). The second one is of methodological nature, focusing on the dance studio context, where ways of exploring movement were developed with PWDUD, as well as the accessibility of this space for the group.
