About the Journal

Revista Estud(i)os de Dança (RED) is a peer-reviewed publication edited jointly by the Instituto de Etnomusicologia - Centro de Estudos em Música e Dança - INET-md, FMH branch, University of Lisbon and the Centro de Estudos em Artes Performativas - CEAP. It aims to contribute to the understanding of dance and its processes through scientific and systematic procedures as well as to promote transdisciplinary debate "dialogue between fields of knowledge, seeking to achieve and alter the perception, cognition or behavior of the subject" (Dicionário Online de Português, 2021, § 4), around performing arts.

Published online, biannually and with open access, it privileges scientific dissemination and accepts submissions in Portuguese or English, evaluates and publishes works with theoretical, methodological, analytical and interpretative foundations in all areas of dance research. Papers should be relevant to dance and scientifically rigorous, providing full technical details.

RED follows a continuous publication modality and includes research articles, thematic dossiers and other relevant materials (interviews, biographies and others) in the Dance area. It ensures scientific evaluation, with the double blind peer review system.
